BYU-Hawaii Rules for Off-Campus
Users
Expectations:
Brigham Young University
Hawaii allows, with specific
approval, the use of campus facilities and areas for the community
and other activities. BYU-Hawaii is a private, church sponsored
institution with certain rules for conduct that all persons on
campus need to follow. These rules include:
·
Respect for others, including personal property and the
personal space of others.
·
Understand and obey safety and traffic rules.
·
Use or possession of tobacco, alcohol, and drugs is not
permitted.
·
All campus visitors are expected to abide by the University
Honor code including wearing modest
clothing and abstaining from the use of profanity.
·
Violation of any University rules or policies is grounds
to be removed form the campus.
· No Fundraising.
Traffic:
·
Traffic is one-way counter clock wise except for the road
between the BYUH Stake Center and the Library.
·
No wheeled conveyances on the sidewalks except for wheelchairs.
·
Parking is limited and must occur in marked parking spaces.
·
Obey all posted sign.
Safety:
·
Since many events are crowded,
strict courtesy is necessary for the safety of all. If you, as
a facility user, judge something to be unsafe, notify a Security
officer (X3911) as soon as possible.
Procedures for seeking approval of BYU-Hawaii
facilities:
·
To request a BYU-Hawaii facility
for use other than a sporting event, please contact CITO (Center
for Instructional Technology and Outreach)
at 293-3276.
·
Your request will be reviewed
by the Calendaring Board.
·
Some requests require approval
by the president’s Council.
Certificate of Insurance:
·
Most users will need to provide
certificates of Insurance and/or Waivers of Liability.
·
LDS Church
units, area schools and small vendors (such as lei stands-in support
of University functions) may be exempt from some of the above
requirements but will still need to go through the C.I.T.O. to
seek approval.
