Geographers study the Earth to gain a deeper understanding of where things are and why they are there. Geography involves a special way of looking at planet Earth and its people. The actual study of geography involves describing, explaining, and making forecasts about people and places.

It is imperative that students understand and appreciate the interplay of human beings with locations, regions, countries, and continents both near and far.
