Greece, Rome, Egypt, Mesopotamia,
and
Other Ancient Civilizations

Why teach about Greece and Rome?
Too often in our educational system students do not study what teachers do not know. Unfortunately, the saying "It's all Greek to me!" demonstrates a common lack of knowledge about this and other ancient civilizations. Did you know that democracy blossomed in Greece over one thousand years before Europeans discovered America? Hopefully this will help take some of the mystery out of Greece, Roman, Egyptian, and Mesopotamian civilizations. When teachers are comfortable with the curriculum, students will be, too. Who knows--you may even enjoy learning right along with your students.
