Under the Sea

Whether they love to swim, surf, fish or bask in the sunlight on the warm sand, children in Hawaii have a special bond with the Ocean.

This pathfinder is designed to help students dive deep beyond the waves to see what lies beneath the surface of their beloved ocean.

The world ocean covers over 70% of the earths surface - that’s nine times bigger than the surface of the moon! The ocean is home to the greatest number of living things on the planet and most of what lies beneath its watery depths is still a mystery.

Students will find themselves captivated as they learn more about the world’s last great frontier. Teach them more about the secret cities of the coral reef or tell them a tale of large whales, sharks and other marine life. Teach them about the ebb and flow of the tide and how waves are formed. There are also lots of fun activities and manipulatives that will educate students as well as entertain them.

What better place to do a unit on the ocean than in beautiful Hawaii!
