Dr. William H. Sage III, chief of staff at the Queen's Medical Center in the
1980s, died Wednesday Nov. 24, 2004lu home. He was 86. age
joined the U.S. Public Health Service, which sent him to Hawaii in 1950. He served three tours of duty here before
his transfer to New
Orleans in 1957.

returned to Hawaii. orn in New York City, Sage was reared in Schuyler, Va. In 1938 he married Evelyn C. Updike of Charlottesville, Va. pon his return to Hawaii in 1957, Sage joined the Fronk Clinic as an internal
medicine and geriatric medicine specialist. uring his
career he also volunteered his medical services, including working in American Samoa in 1962. age served as
medical director for Arcadia Retirement Residence from 1966 to 1967 and was
president of the Hawaii Heart Association from 1968 to 1970. e
was twice elected chief of staff at the Queen's Medical Center, serving from 1981 to 1988. e
retired in 1993 at age 75. e is survived by his wife
of 66 years, Evelyn; daughter Anne; son Bill; granddaughters Milikaa and Liz;
and grandsons Billy and Mark. ervices will be held 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at Diamond Head Memorial

VICTOR SAGPANG SR. Age 79, of Kaneohe, died March 2, 2004. Born in
Hilo, Hawaii, raised in Honokawai, Maui, at 18 yrs. he moved to Honolulu.
Retired from Pearl Harbor after 38 years. While working at Pearl Harbor as a
Rigger and Ship's Superintendent, he served as a director on the Pearl Harbor
Credit Union Board of Directors. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He
loved the ocean and diving for tako and fish. He loved to dance and listen to
latin music. He always provided well for his family. On April 4th, Victor and
Louise would have cele-brated their 61st wedding anniversary. As one of
Jehovah's Witness, his ministry became a focal point in his life. Survived by
