Comeback Falls Short

Paul Peterson (shown in earlier action) scored 21 points to lead the Seasiders in tonight's game

Honolulu, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s basketball team rallied from a 13-point deficit five minutes into the second half to tie the game at 66-66 with a minute-and-a-half to play, but fell short down the stretch in a 76-70 loss to Chaminade tonight in Pacific West Conference action. The Seasiders, now 11-6 overall and 6-4 in the PacWest, battled back in a game that was tied seven times and saw 12 lead changes in the first half but couldn’t get the lead change they needed late in the game.

Lucas Alves tallied 13 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots while Corey Nielson chipped in 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Marques Whippy added ten points off the bench and Micah Casey came in for six points and four rebounds for the Seasiders.
