Movin' On Up

Trenson Akana and the Seasiders moved up in the national rankings

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s basketball team continued its climb up the national rankings today, moving up five spots to number 11 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II poll. The Seasiders, 3-0 for the season, received 100 points in today’s poll, an increase of 34 points over last week’s vote and the second highest total ever received by BYU–Hawaii.

Today’s ranking also represents the second highest position for the Seasiders in the Division II poll. BYU–Hawaii reached ninth place in the ranking with 102 points back on December 21, 2004. The Seasiders defeated Henderson State in their only game this past week and will face Tampa on Saturday at 7:30 pm in Laie.
