Invitational Results
Kaneohe, HI- BYU-Hawaii's Chelsea Smith and Namea Curtis finished second
and fifth respectively for the Seasiders in the HPU invitational in Kaneohe
this morning. Smith finished with a 22:0 in the 6K race and teammate Curtis
came in at 24:11. Overall the Lady Seasiders finished second with a team
score of 47. Hawaii Pacific received 21 to take first place honors with
Sayuri Kusutani completing the race in 21:33. Chaminade received third
tallying 90 points. UH-Manoa totaled 114 for fourth and Irvine Valley
College finished with 142 for fifth.
The men did not fare as well in the 10K race finishing fourth. Crossing
the line first for the Seasiders was Steve Soelberg in seventh at 34:15.
Thomas Jordan followed at 36:22 to claim 15th but it wasn't enough to
boost the Seasiders score. The team ended in fourth at 91. Hawaii Pacific
received 23 with Christian Madsen crossing the line first at 31:33. Irvine
Valley College finished second at 68 followed by UH-Hilo at 81. Chaminade
ended behind the Seasiders with 114 for fifth.
