March 20, 2002 Hood Goes the Distance Hilo, HI- The Brigham Young University-Hawaii women's softball team lost a doubleheader at UH-Hilo today by scores of 1-0 and 8-0. The Seasiders lost a heartbreaker in the first game as Kassie Hood pitched 10 scoreless innings before finally surrendering the game-winning run. In the second game, the Vulcans pummeled the ball and the Seasiders until the game was called after four and a half innings. With the losses the Seasiders' record falls to 7-14, 4-5. The Vulcans lead the PacWest conference with a 21-6, 10-2 record. BYU-Hawaii will take on HPU on Saturday in Kaneohe.
