Seasiders Lose Pair

Honolulu, HI-The Brigham Young University Hawaii women's softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader to Chaminade today by scores of 5-3 and 5-4.

In the first game the Seasiders got into an early hole through some sloppy fielding in the first inning that allowed the Silverswords a 3-0 lead. It was too big a hole for BYU Hawaii to crawl out of.

The Seasiders got off to a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the second game but couldn't hold the lead and lost it in the seventh when the Silverswords pushed across the winning run.

Maggie Reynolds and Michelle Gibson drilled eight of the Seasiders' 15 hits on the day, getting four apiece. Reynolds had four RBI's in the second game and scored two runs in the first game. Gibson had a pair of RBI's in the opener and scored twice in the second game.

BYU Hawaii will play two against UH-Hilo in Laie on Saturday beginning at noon.
