| October 20, 2007 Seasiders Blow Past Argonauts Again
Laie, HI–The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s volleyball team defeated Notre Dame de Namur tonight in Pacific West Conference action for the second time this week to strengthen the Seasiders’ hold on second place in the conference. The Seasiders took every game by the same score, winning 30-22, 30-22, 30-22, to improve to 11-8 overall and 7-4 in the PacWest while dropping the Argonauts to 8-16 overall and 5-6 in the conference. Senior outside hitter Noelle Filimoeatu and sophomore outside hitter Agnes Tuilevuka each knocked down 14 kills to lead a balanced BYU–Hawaii attack as junior setter LeeAnn Mapu did another excellent job of distributing her 41 assists to the Seasider hitters. Junior middle blocker Faylynn Merrick blasted ten kills and freshman middle blocker Tanza Buroker powered seven while hitting .375 for BYU–Hawaii. Tuilevuka pulled up 11 digs and Mapu added ten on the defensive side for BYU–Hawaii and Buroker led the way with four blocks. Merrick and Mapu each put up three blocks and six different Seasiders served aces in the match. Sarah Perry had nine kills to lead Notre Dame de Namur. Lauren Quach led the Argonauts with 19 digs and Marissa Miller got 13. The Seasiders will face Hawaii Pacific next on October 26th at 7:30 pm in Laie.
