| October 3, 2007 Seasiders Drop One to Antelopes
Phoenix, AZ–The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s volleyball team lost 3-1 on the road tonight against Grand Canyon in Pacific West Conference action. The Seasiders, now 7-6 overall and 3-2 in the PacWest, came back from a first-game loss to take the second game and even the match at 1-1, but fell just short in the next two to go down 26-30, 30-28, 31-33, 26-30. Senior outside hitter Noelle Filimoeatu put away 16 kills to lead the Seasiders while Agnes Tuilevuka and Faylynn Merrick each knocked down 15. Merrick hit a career-high .737 for the match and also put up a match-high five blocks. Tuilevuka led the way with 12 digs and Filimoeatu and LeeAnn Mapu each contributed ten. Filimoeatu made four blocks and Tanza Buroker thee for the Seasiders and Mapu finished the night with 50 assists. Dana Edington had 23 kills and hit .429 to lead Grand Canyon, now 4-11 for the season and 1-3 in the conference. Whitney Estes had 17 kills and Shea Robinson had 16 for the Antelopes. BYU–Hawaii will play Dixie State on Friday and Saturday in St. George, Utah. Game time on Friday is at 7:00 pm MST and Saturday’s match will be at 3:00 pm MST.
