| September 13, 2007 Seasiders Outlast Alumni
Laie, HI–The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s volleyball team defeated the alumni tonight, 30-24, 30-22, 26-30, 27-30, 15-5, in an exhibition match celebrating 29 years of BYU–Hawaii volleyball. Statistics were not kept in the match but the alumni held their own, forcing a fifth game, but the current version of the Seasiders had too much firepower at the end. Noelle Filimoeatu, Agnes Tuilevuka, Faylynn Merrick, and LeeAnn Mapu all stood out for the varsity as they faced some of the legends of the Seasider past. Arlete Silva Berne drew roars from the crowd for the alumni as she brought back memories of her four years as a First-Team All-American. She was joined on the alumni team by Nui Chang-Nikora, Kalolaine Uluave, Rachel Nihipali-Kalama, Leiau Meatoga, Kaala Lo Tafa, Brittany Koelliker, Kawehi Wallace Kammerer, Joanne Moeai, Jocelyn Akana, and Teisa Fotu Avaa. BYU–Hawaii will open the Pacific West Conference season on September 21st against UH-Hilo in Laie at 7:30 pm HST.
