Laie, HI— The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s basketball team evened their conference record at 2-2 with a lopsided victory over Chaminade University of Honolulu. The Seasiders ended the first half up by nine and stretched the lead to as much as 31 to win with a final score of 84-55. BYU-Hawaii’s Agnes Tuilevuka had a great game on both sides of the ball, falling three steals short of a triple-double. BYU-Hawaii clicked on all cylinders as they had 11 different players in the points column and all 12 helping with rebounds. Tuilevuka led the game with 18 points, shooting 7-9 from the field, pulling down a dozen rebounds and swiping seven steals. Richelle Fenenbock scored 16 points with four three pointers and new-comer Shaina Siliga had 13 points in just 14 minutes in her first action of the season. The Seasiders dominated the boards with 27 offensive rebounds, totaling 59 on the game over Chaminade’s 28. The Silverswords were led by Marian Murphy with 13 points and five rebounds. Arielle Salavador handed out five assists to lead all guards. The Seasiders (2-11, 2-2) will be back in action with a home tilt versus Hawaii Pacific University (1-13, 1-4) on January 16 at 5:30pm. |
