Seasiders Lose to Undefeated Seattle

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s basketball team dropped to 0-7 tonight after their second loss of the season to Seattle University 100-42. The game was tied early at 4-4 before Seattle went on a 23-0 run that held BYU-Hawaii scoreless for over ten minutes. The Redhawks’ halftime lead of 43-16 was insurmountable as the Seasiders shot 24% from the field and only 3-18 from the three-point arc.

Freshman Richelle Fenenbock, BYU-Hawaii’s leading scorer, led the team in scoring and matched her season average with 11 points. Felisita Ika and Amanda Watts added eight and seven points respectively. Sara Nielson led in rebounding with six while Madison Kite pulled down five.

All five of the Redhawks’ starters reached double digits in points led by Chelsie Morrison who did not miss a shot, going 2-2 from the field, 3-3 from long range, and 2-2 from the free throw line for a total of 15 points. Seattle had 14 players help in scoring.

BYU-Hawaii will play Colorado School of Mines on December 21st in the George Q. Cannon Activities Center at 12:00 pm in Laie.
