Seasiders Hang Tough

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s basketball team battled the number two team in the Pacific West Conference down to the wire tonight before falling just short, 68-61, to Notre Dame de Namur at the Cannon Activities Center. The Seasiders, who trailed 34-28 at halftime, closed the gap to just one point, at 42-41, with 8:25 to play but the Argonauts held on for the win.

Agnes Tuilevuka scored 20 points to continue her strong play recently and pulled down nine rebounds to go with four assists and four steals to lead the Seasiders in all four categories tonight. Richelle Fenenbock tallied 15 points, including three three-pointers and also handed out four assists. Madison Kite finished with eight points and Felisita Ika six for the Seasiders.

Corazon Riley led Notre Dame de Namur with 20 points and Tanaia Keyes chipped in 16 as the Argonauts improved to 10-3 in the PacWest and 10-11 overall. BYU–Hawaii is now 4-17 overall and 4-8 in the PacWest.

The Seasiders will face Grand Canyon on Friday in Laie at 5:30 pm HST.
