Seasiders Fall to Conference Leader

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s basketball team fell to Grand Canyon, the top team in the Pacific West Conference, tonight by a score of 87-54 at the Cannon Activities Center. The Seasiders, who trailed 48-21 at halftime, played much tougher in the second half but could not overcome the deficit.

Richelle Fenenbock scored 20 points and hit a pair of three-pointers to lead the Seasiders tonight. Agnes Tuilevuka dropped in eight points and nabbed six rebounds and Hoku Holdcraft came off the bench to pull down a team-high eight rebounds, hand out a team-high four assists, and score six points for BYU–Hawaii. Madison Kite also added six points and five rebounds.

Rosalyn Nelson scored 29 points and Samantha Murphy 27 to help Grand Canyon improve to 17-10 overall and 13-3 in the PacWest. Sara Dalgliesh added ten points for Lady ‘Lopes. BYU–Hawaii is now 4-18 overall and 4-9 in the conference.

The Seasiders will face Grand Canyon again tomorrow in Laie at 5:30 pm HST.
