October 27, 2007 Seasiders Second in PacWest
Belmont, CA—The Brigham Young University Hawaii's women's cross country team took second place today at the Hawaiian Airlines Pacific West Conference Championships, finishing 13 points back of UH-Hilo in the race for the title. Individually, BYU–Hawaii’s Amanda Whitford claimed the individual title with Diana Voorhees placing third for the Seasiders. Whitford ran an 18:54 5K to finish first by 17 seconds over UH-Hilo’s Kelly Rogers. Voorhees came in at 19:33 to give the Seasiders two of the top three finishes. Hilarie Glenn took tenth place with a time of 20:20 and Michelle Fong finished 14th in 20:31. Allyson Robison completed the scoring for the Seasiders with a 17th-place finish in 20:59 and Veronica Mendoza completed the race in 21:35 for BYU–Hawaii. The top seven runners in the race were awarded All-Conference First Team honors with the next seven being named Second Team All-Conference.
