November 1, 2007 Norton Honored Sarah Norton (shown in action earlier this season) was honored today for her academic and athletic accomplishments this year Laie, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s soccer player Sarah Norton was honored today by the College Sports Information Director’s Association (CoSIDA) by being named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team for the west district. Norton, a senior defender from Cedar City, Utah, is majoring in exercise and sport science and carries a 3.87 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. She is a co-captain of the Seasider squad and one of the top defensive players in the region. This season she has helped the Seasiders fashion a 12-6-1 overall record and a 9-2 mark in the Pacific West Conference. She is the anchor of the BYU–Hawaii defense that has posted seven shutouts so far this year. Last season Norton was named to the Daktronics All-Region Second Team and also to the Pacific West Conference Second Team.
