Honolulu, HI—Just as they did in the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season, the Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s soccer team dominated Chaminade today everywhere but on the scoreboard before defeating the Silverswords 2-0 in a Pacific West Conference match. The Seasiders controlled play throughout the game, out-shooting the Silverswords 25-0, but managed to find the net only twice in the second half.

Kahanu Ah Puck scored for the Seasiders in the 55th minute off a pass from Jill Haar to get BYU–Hawaii on the board after a scoreless first half. Alexa Page tacked on the final goal in the 87th minute with an assist by Hailey McKee. The Seasiders peppered Chaminade goal keeper Marissa Minor with shots but Minor came up with 13 saves in the game. BYU–Hawaii goal keeper Becky Ploeger got credit for the shutout without making a single save. Chaminade not only had no shots on goal but also no corner kicks as well as the Silverswords never mounted a serious threat.

BYU Hawaii’s next action will be on Monday against NCAA Division I foe Weber State in Laie at 4:00 pm HST.
